You use many things in your kitchen daily to prepare the meals that your friends and family will eat. One of the most used items in your kitchen is the kitchen cutting board. This is a fundamental tool for preparing your foods. I use a John Boos cutting board made from northern hard rock maple from Massachusetts. It is considered to be very safe and even more sanitary than many of the synthetic cutting boards on the market today by the NSF (The National Sanitary Foundation) Since this piece of equipment is used everyday it must be cleaned and maintained properly to prevent food poisoning.Just doing a quick wash with hot water and liquid soap is not sufficient enough to clean and sanitize your board and can leave germs and bacteria behind that you are not aware of and can possibly make you sick. You need to take special care of your cutting board whether it is a John Boos cutting board like mine or not and whether it is made of wood or not.
